Welcome
As we transition into the darker months, I invite you into a nourishing day of insight, creativity and community.
An opportunity to honour ourselves as Beings of this world, to re-member ourselves as part of nature, not as something Other.
In our modern world it is all too easy to exist outside of nature’s rhythms; society often dictates we carry on regardless of seasonal change. For this day, you are invited to drop into an intentional space aligning with the natural energies around us.
In Celtic language Samhain translates as Summer’s End. Traditionally October 31st marked the end of one year and November 1st the beginning of the next. When we pause to notice the world around us this makes profound sense: the year in nature is coming to a close, the harvests are gathered, plants prepare for rest as animals make ready for wintering.
Throughout the day we will hold a gentle pace, with regular opportunity to reflect and pause. Consider this gathering to be a warming gift, to witness and to be seen. We will combine meditations, folklore, poems and creative arts, within community and personal process.
Please note that the event is being held on the 8th November to give space for those of you who still celebrate October 31st.
More information about the day will be available nearer the time.
I look forward to seeing you in November
Warmly
Sam

About Sam
Sam founded Akira Counselling in 2016.
She is an accredited person-centred creative arts therapist, holding a diploma from APCCA, a degree in Humanistic Counselling Practice, and is a trained group facilitator. Through her counselling practice she is honoured to work alongside young people and adults both online and in person.
Deeply aligned to the natural world, Sam weaves her love folklore, nature’s energies and creativity into her life and work. Outside the therapeutic space, she is a keen fermenter, lover of camping and apprentices herself to woodwork.
Through her current project, Self-discovery through creative arts, Sam facilitates immersive, quarterly full-day workshops. She is also expanding her offerings, with new, regular shorter gatherings emerging soon.
The workshop will be co-hosted by Cindy
Cindy is an APCCA accredited person-centred, creative arts therapist (Dip.), Practicing person-centred counsellor & psychotherapist, (BA Hons), Certified Group facilitator, transpersonal arts certification, and trainee systemic family therapist.
Registered with NCPS - MNCS (Accred) NCS21-02656
Cindy is currently employed as a counsellor in a hospice, and has a private practice imaginatively called Cindy Burcham Counselling.
